Welcome the newest staffer to join the io9 team and get his brain implant! Mark Strauss will be our tentacle in Washington DC, covering the increasingly dystopian world of politics and science, as well as other topics that strike his fancy.
Mark Strauss has been an editor and journalist for more than 20 years, writing about science, science fiction, politics, history, international affairs and pretty much everything else. His articles have appeared in Foreign Policy, The New Republic, Slate, Washington Post, Smithsonian, Discover, The Chronicle of Higher Education and SPY. Prior to joining io9, he was a senior editor at Smithsonian magazine, a senior editor at Foreign Policy and the editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which won a 2007 National Magazine Award for General Excellence.
