And it's that time of the week where I announce the new theme for the ongoing mixtape contest. We've had some excellent themes so far, and we continue this tradition with our newest theme. I shall let Week 15's winner, imaginaryfriend, explain:

Leaving is universal. We leave the nest. Leave the hometown. Leave our friends. Leave our lovers. Leave old habits. Leave our jobs. We've been doing it since before our ancestors left the trees, and even they were probably humming something on the way out. Fortunately, you won't have to - that's what this edition of the mixtape challenge is for.

Your songs can explicitly be about leaving...but they could also be songs that inspired you to get up and get out - or even the song that was playing in your head, in your phones or in the background when you actually did. Or even other things; figuring out context and definition is your job. :P

So there ya go. It's time for farewell songs. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. What you're saying farewell to is up to you.

As always the same rules apply. And just to remind, you do need to include links or a playlist or something. Just listing songs isn't going to be enough. You have until

Tuesday, September 30

at noon to get your submissions in. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.
