Today in London the first known lab grown burger was cooked and eaten during a press conference. Cow cells were turned into strips of muscle in a Dutch lab then the strips were combined to make a patty.
The comments of the two taste testers were mixed but generally positive.
"There is quite some intense taste; it's close to meat, but it's not that juicy. The consistency is perfect, but I miss salt and pepper."
"The mouthfeel is like meat. I miss the fat, there's a leanness to it, but the general bite feels like a hamburger."
The burger patty cost over £200,000 ($300,000) so don't expect to see it marketed anytime soon.
