Need H.P. Lovecraft Book Advice

So as my avatar suggests, I've always been more intimately familiar with Poe vs. Lovecraft. The only book I have with Lovecraft stories is the Dreams of Terror and Death collection, but I'd like to get another, more comprehensive, collection.

I didn't get far in reading Amazon reviews before I already felt I was in a head-spinning rabbit hole from clashing opinions from the "experts" about what's considered "definitive," "authentic," etcetera etcetera.

For example, Necronomicon: The Best Weird Tales of H.P. Lovecraft looks like it would fit the bill, but what's the deal with comparing it to editions from this S.T. Joshi person?

I'm not looking for one book that has *everything* but a collection with some illustrations would be preferred.

So what do you have and why do you love or hate it? Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Ended up stopping by Barnes & Noble and getting their collectible edition.

p.s. sorry for the terrible formatting — seems to be a new twist to Kinja fails.
