Remember when press secretary CJ Cregg swore you can stand an egg on it's end at the exact moment of the vernal equinox and other senior staff members shot her theory down in The West Wing's episode Evidence of Things Not Seen? Well, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson confirmed on Twitter earlier today that CJ was kinda right.
It is possible to stand an egg on it's end. It just has nothing to do with the first day of spring. In fact, in the video below, Bad Astronomer Phil Plait will even show you how to do it on any day of the year.
