As you all may know, a nerd's "To Watch" list is never truly finished. There's always some cult classic TV show or movie that you have to dig up from the depths of the internet that you have left. Or that you've never gotten around to seeing and you're just tired of hearing about it and just said "Screw it! I'm watching it!!" I'm typically of the second group.
So this past week, I've been watching the first season of Warehouse 13 and last night, I watched The Adventure of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension. So here are my thought!!
First, Warehouse 13. How did the writers find a way for me to love characters who I would usually hate?! Myka, the By-The-Rules intellectual, Pete, the laidback guy with the vibes and Claudia, the quirky hacker girl with her strange vocabulary? These are all characters that a lot of other shows have and they're usually super annoying. W13, however, have managed to make each one of these character so lovable and real. I was really afraid that I was going to hate one of these characters but I don't! I love them all!! Well done, writers! Fans of Warehouse 13, is there anything that I should really look forward to? I know about HG Wells but anything else?
Next, Buckaroo Banzai! I actually have no idea what I thought about it but I do know this: I really want to watch this movie repeatedly. Is that the way I'm supposed to feel? I mean, there's was a lot of things happening in the movie and I'm pretty sure I loved it but I just feel like watching it again. I watched it on youtube so I didn't have subtitles to fully enjoy all of the ridiculous things that John Lithgow was saying (but the things that I got, I totally loved) so I'm heading to a library and picking it up (because that's how we roll in the land of Juggler). Second point, there is a CRAP TON of famous people in this movie! Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Christopher Lloyd, Carl Lumby, Clancy Mother Flippin Brown! This movie is a classic to me just for the amount of talent! Also, I might have a crush on Buckaroo, Rawhide and Perfect Tommy. I know, I know, I'm too late. I haz a sads.
Now, I must rest and will continue my saga of To Watch: Nerd Edition at a later time.
