I was able to play in this weekend's beta of Neverwinter. So I created a half-orc named Klem to play. The Guardian Fighter was the only one of the limited choices for class that interested me.
On the plus side, the controls are simple. I could easily initiate special actions and use inventory items during combat despite having the typing skills of a drunk gorilla.
The big downside for me was the very repetitive missions. I wouldn't have minded the "go here, kill X number of rebels/kobolds/orcs/whatever" thing so much if there had been a bit more of a story. There is a larger arc going on but it hasn't been made particularly compelling.
I'll play the game when it goes live since it's free to play. Hacking up orcs is still fun. There will probably be some decent user-made content from the Foundry to play. But I don't expect Neverwinter to be a "must play" game for me.
