Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks

New river dolphin species, fewer dolphins

Genetic testing shows the 1,000 or so river dolphins in the Araguaia and Tocantins rivers are a different species from Amazon river dolphins separated about 2 million years ago. The authors of the article propose the name boto-do-Araguaia, Inia araguaiaensis. They are threatened by development.
