Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks

NZ GP: "I don't want to interfere with the process of producing life"

Not content to let the US be the only English-speaking country on the planet with doctors who don't want to write prescriptions for birth control, Dr. Joseph Lee of the Wairau Community Clinic in Blenheim recently (twoish weeks ago?) refused to renew a prescription for a 23 old patient who requested it.

NZ law allows doctors to refuse treatment if their beliefs prohibit it, but the doctors are required to refer their patients to another doctor. Dr. Lee was "initially reluctant to do that", according to the patient, Melissa Pont.

Lee also does not prescribe condoms, and encourages patients as young as 16 to use the rhythm method.
