Thursday, October 15th, 2015 – Shining a Light on the Dark Side: Horror Writing in Canada co-sponsored by the Horror Writers of Ontario and Friends of Merril, join local horror writers Stephanie Bedwell-Grime, Suzanne Church, Sèphera Girón, Monica S. Kuebler, and Brad Middleton for a panel discussion about horror writing in Canada. 7pm in the Merril Collection, 3rd floor reading room.



Saturday,October 24th, 2015 – Seeing Our Diversity in Science Fiction and Fantasy. The Friends of the Merril present a roundtable discussion on which SF & Fantasy literature first reflected the panelist’s reality and experiences. With moderator Derek Newman-Stille, and panelists Dr. Kathryn Allan, Editor of Disability in Science Fiction & Co-Editor of Accessing the Future, and Kelly Robson, Author of Two-Year Man, Waters of Versailles, & The Three Resurrections of Jessica Churchill. Additional panelists may be added as confirmations come in. 2-4pm in the Merril Collection, 3rd floor reading room.
