Quantum Computing question

I've been reading an article on quantum computing. http://nvonews.com/quantum-comput… It's all good but what I don't understand is how a computer could look at all possible combinations of something, at the same time. For example, lets say you have 10,000 room building, and a bomb is placed in one of them. How would a computer find it? Well, the classical brute force method, room 1: no. room 2: no. room 3: no. and so on until the room was found. Now in quantum computing, all 10,000 rooms would be looked at, at the same time, determine which room was different from all the others, ie, had a bomb in it, and be done instantly. From a programmers point of view, how do you view all your data set at the same time?
