Miscalibrated Internet Receptor Stalks
Illustration for article titled Question: Is Hype bad?

Now, I ask this based on the concept that getting people exicted for something, but the people not really supporting it. The same thing as well when you support it, but is not the thing you wanted in the first place.

For example, people who go and get excited for a trailer, but the movie is a complete letdown. The opposite would be people getting hyped for a new show, but the ratings bomb hard.

So should we ride the hype train into new things, or should we just moderatly be interested in them, consume them, and then spread the positive or negative word?

I am also using the new Batgirl costume design as an example cause I belive too many people are hyped for it, but not really gonna support it as much as they should(general audience, not fans). I am not saying it is not gonna get any support at all, but I feel like DC is not gonna be fan of the numbers for some reason.
But if I am wrong, I am fucking wrong.
