How exciting was that?! Decent enough premier, I'd say. Met plenty of characters, a round mix of men and women with varrying characteristics. Had some worldbuilding, some questions asked, answered and unanswered, and best of all I really feel the originality of this. At least, I haven't seen a show set in the near-future of Earth yet looks so different and incorporates 8 different races.

On that note, it was interesting to see just how many of those races were humanoid, bipedal, two eyes, etc, and probably with the same reproductive set as humans. Just a coincidence that life in the universe has all those similar characteristics? (In an era where forehead wrinkles in Star Trek are laughable , I was surprised to see such similarities.) I can understand if bipedal, two eyes, etc are evolutionary convenient, but there are times where I have to question their biology just for the heck of it, because this is Syfy.

And, is it just me, or is there the tiniest vibe of Eureka going on? Sheriff, unhappy kid...
