In what must count as the weirdest product endorsement since the Spongmonkeys shilled for Quizno’s, Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s have chosen Rick and Morty to promote their line of specialty hamburgers:
I’m not really sure how this ad will play with people who aren’t fans of the show — keen-eyed viewers will notice a Plumbus on Morty’s shelf — and it doesn’t exactly make my mouth water at the thought of biting into a Jalapeño Thickburger. (At any rate, the nearest Carl’s Jr is a dozen miles away.) But it does remind me how desperately I need more Rick and Morty in my life. And for thirty seconds, it fills that void.
