Has the Marvel juggernaut gone too far?
AMC and Regal theater chains have just announced a massive, completely irrational twenty-nine hour long Marvel Studios marathon.
I weep for the poor poor theater employees who have to clean up for people staying in a theater for an entire day. From what I can tell, the attendees will get about a 15-20 minute break between each movie, which they can spend standing in lines at bathrooms and concession stands.
Who among you is brave enough to do this? I sure ain't. You'd have to pay me to go.
Below is the movie schedule for the entire event.
- 6:00pm IRON MAN
- 8:25pm THE INCREDIBLE HULK
- 10:35pm IRON MAN 2
- 1:00am THOR
- 3:10am CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
- 5:30am THE AVENGERS
- 8:48am IRON MAN 3
- 11:15am THOR: THE DARK WORLD
- 1:45pm CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
- 4:20pm GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
- 7:00pm AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON
Addendum: AMC is also offering a more sane Avengers 1 & 2 double feature event, which really doesn't make sense in terms of plot progression, but you will probably survive it, unlike the crazyass marathon.
