...in this day and age of multiple gadgetry and appliances, how does old homes with only one wall outlet per room does it? Anybody here knows? I am not sure if I should engage an electrician to rip open the walls of my newly renovated house (which unfortunately, due to my own shortsightedness at the time, I forgot to get the contractors to install more wall warts in my room) or if there's something I can DIY myself. I hate cables, and I think the room has too many power bars as it is (3!) That means I have about 12 appliances (computer, stereo, turntable, xbox, scanner, etc...)

Or I might just sell everything and live off the grid, so to speak. If I don't sort out the cabling issue and be driven mad from it.
