I had CNN on the background while I was "working" and looked up when I heard the phrase "zombie plane" used in reference to the missing Malaysian airliner. However, they were not referring to a zombie outbreak on the plane like Flight 575.
Instead, they were discussing the theory that the passengers and crew were disabled for whatever reason, such as knocked unconscious by decompression. The autopilot then flew on its programmed course (including that left turn for whatever reason) until the plane ran out of fuel. Zombie plane is catchy but I think they need to find a more accurate term.
If nothing else though, it's more plausible than a black hole.
