We've had the disaster spoofs, the horror spoofs, the superhero spoofs, the horror spoofs again, and the "epic" spoofs, now at long last modern film comedy finally casts its eye over that most self serious of genres that definitely isn't already mostly made up of satire and self parody...the zombie movie.
This is happening everyone, all we can do is prepare...
The story follows a group of survivors from all walks of the apocalypse - an idiotic Sheriff with definite coma-induced brain damage, his hardass son and a hobo with only a crossbow to stave off the walking dead, four squabbling friends forced to survive this zombieland together, and a lonely zombie who just needs love to fully regain his warm body - who leave their once-safe mall hideout in search of the rumored Safe Haven Ranch, a refuge untouched by the zombie virus that has ravaged humanity. But despite the comforting name, they discover that this sanctuary may not be as welcoming as advertised.
This is currently in production under the title The Walking Deceased because I guess We're Not Even Trying Anymore was taken.
Anyway, this movie will apparently focus it's spoofing powers over some specific titles from the zombie canon, namely The Walking Dead, Zombieland (already a comedy) Warm Bodies (also already a comedy) World War Z, Shaun of the Dead (not only already a comedy but arguably already a spoof) Dawn of the Dead, and Romero's Night of the Living Dead.
Remove the head or destroy the brain guys...
...or stay home and watch a good zombie film.
