The trailers really hadn’t whetted my appetite for the Doctor Who Christmas special this year. “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” looked to be a dopey homage to superheroes, which is what it turned out to be, but somehow it was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.
Just saw this on the end of year round-up episode of tech show Click. It’s an augmented reality Santa jumper which allows friends and family to view you with a parasitic Father Christmas growing out of your belly.
Her we go, people! The solstice is on Wednesday, Hanukka gets rollin’ on Saturday, and then it’s Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Year’s in rapid succession. Naturally, music is needed. Post songs for any and all of these fine festivities. :D
Maybe you don’t like Christmas comic books. “Bah! Humbug!” you say, when creators try to mesh superheroes with yuletide cheer. Here’s one that has a ghost of a chance of changing your mind.
In an ideal world, I would fit this up with a wall of little windows that can be opened one-by-one, but since it’s the season, consider the virtual window clicked and the panel opened on a Christmassy (rather than Quatermassy) sci-fi treat.

The week between Christmas and New Years is a time of weird, unspoken traditions: returning unwanted gifts, throwing out near-dead trees, stockpiling eggnog before it vanishes for another year.
