If you came across a beached (but still very alive) shark, seemingly choking on a two-foot chunk of moose-meat, would your response be to:

  1. Trust that it was as good as dead, and let it be,
  2. Trust that the shark knew what it was doing, and let it be, or
  3. Reach into its mouth and dislodge the moose from its throat, then release the shark into the water?

If your answer is 3, then who the heck knows if that's the right answer. But that's what these Canadians chose to do.

Maybe they cost it a meal, maybe they saved its life. I take no sides, I'm teaching the controversy here.

But the important thing is that they put their arms down the throat of a struggling, living shark.
