Frictional Games, creators of the hit indie horror title Amnesia: The Dark Descent (or Penumbra, if you're into that) are back, and this time they're leaving the world of Lovecraft behind, and heading into the realm of Giger on their new SCP-Foundation inspired title, SOMA.
(Note: While this trailer contains unedited gameplay, the actual sequence featured will not appear in the final game. They made a small section just for the trailer, to give you an idea of what you'll be getting. So feel free to watch it and remain spoiler-free!)
The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.
Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.
The only way out is to do something unimaginable.
And in case you missed the first teaser trailer, "Item #2656 - 'Vivarium,'" here it is. The game's SCP-Foundation inspiration is much more apparent there.
I'm excited to say the least. I loved Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but sci-fi horror? Now that's much more my speed. Two years from now is just too darn long.
