This image of the remains of an exploded star 17,000 light years away was captured by the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescopic Array (NuSTAR). It has been dubbed "The Hand of God", but I think it looks more like an epic Sauron face palm.

NuSTAR is an orbiting telescope launched in June of 2012 to specifically focus on the high energy X-Ray area of the electromagnetic spectrum.
