A detective walks into a room and confronts a being with a scary smiley face mask and she witnesses it vanish. She then proclaims “Demons don’t exist!”to which Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) retorts, “Well, that’s exactly what it was.” She replies, “That’s impossible. You’re crazy!” And away we go.
The thing is that this was pretty much the premise the first time around when Abby Mills was that detective. But she was killed off in the season 3 finale.
So now, Crane is left with a letter from George Washington who handed Crane “an organization set up to fight the supernatural. Crane has to find them and lead them.”
Jenny Mills (Lyndie Greenwood) is the only other character from the previous seasons left. Everyone else is new peeps. And the enigmatic Jeremy Davies is the new baddie named Malcolm Dreyfuss. “Dreyfuss is part Steve Jobs, and a dash of Hannibal (Lecter, I assume) and a touch of Lex Luthor.”
I don’t think I’ll be watching this new season since I stopped sometime around season 2. Truth be told, the show was such a let-down, it makes Sleepy Hollow the movie look like a classic. And it pretty much is a damn good movie.
Who knows? It might turn out to be good. Stranger things have happened.
