Incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall teases his bold and dangerous vision for Doctor Who. The Broadchurch creator has been interviewed by Mark Lawson for the Royal Society of Television’s magazine, Television. He also discusses the failure of Channel 4's Camelot and the continuing need for appointment television.
He also reveals that he expected the BBC to be less than enthusiastic about his plans for the Time Lord.
“But, in the end, I had ideas about what I wanted to do with it. When I went to them and said, ‘This is what I would do’, I actually expected them to say, ‘Ooh, let’s talk about that’, but they said: ‘Great!’”
