It is Monday and I needed a something to get me through the loooong morning, so I thought I'd have some fun making up this list. Just as an aside, I broke every rule I set for myself about this list (Only
two three four songs per movie, only animated animated or hybrid films, only songs sung by characters songs that were original for the movie) so enjoy. I included any film that Disney produced-which includes Pixar films as well. Feel free to tell me how wrong I am in the comments. I'm ready to face the music.
Yes, it made the list. Barely, because it is a good song, but its at the bottom out of spite.
By far the worst Disney Princess Love song.
"George, George, George of the Jungle, strong as he can be. WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!"
This might have been higher if anyone could remember any line from this song other than "A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down..."
Some may argue there are better songs from this one, but I love the Goofy/Max duo.
Yeah, good luck getting that one unstuck from your head.
See? They GET teenagers too.
I totally might be biased for this one because I love Billy Joel.
Because the princess has to have a song sharing her hopes and dreams because how else will we know what she wants?
How many times has this one been referenced in other media in the past 78 years?
This was a great song for a movie set in an arcade, and the music video was awesome.
It played at the end, sure, but it was a great song and written for the movie.
Do you remember the dance? Because I do.
I would have liked this song better if it wasn't just a bunch of cliches one after another.
The song it's okay to dance like a monkey to while singing along too.
Best song ever sung by anthropomorphized birds. Pointedly glares at Pinocchio.
I'm bouncin' in my seat just singing the song in my head.
If you didn't see Lilo and Stitch because you were too old for Disney when it came out, at least go listen to this song. It was wonderful.
No actual lyrics, just a bunch of funny sounds set to music, and it's still one of the best.
This one definitely got bonus points for execution, it was a fantastic scene.
And not just for the double entendre either.
Best love song not sung by a princess.
The best love song in all of the Disney Princess Love Songs.
"NANTS INGONYAMA BAGITHI BABA!"
No Robin Williams, we ain't ever had a friend like you.
This is my personal favorite Lion King song. Now, it's what I put on when my son is being grumpy and needs cheering up. You can't frown while listening to it.
"Robin Hood and Little John, walkin' through the forest laughin' back and forth at what the other'ne has to say! Reminiscin', This-'n'-thattin', havin' such a good time. Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally, Golly, what a day!" There. That's it. That's the song that's going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
The original song that broke the 'a character has to sing it' rule, because I couldn't not include it.
By far the best advice I've heard of yet for being the best.
- We must be swift as the coursing river
- With all the force of a great typhoon
- With all the strength of a raging fire
- Mysterious as the dark side of the moon
Every kid knows this song.
What else would you expect me to end with? This has been Disney's major theme song for a long time now.
