He worked with the man who discovered penicillin, survived a Japanese Prisoner of War camp - and still turns out to work as a doctor at the age of 105. The Daily Telegraph has a heart warming profile of Dr Bill Frankland, MBE who once told Saddam Hussein to quit smoking.

Dr Frankland specialises in treating allergies and championed the view that they can be explained as a malfunction of the immune system. He still contributes to journals and has an unpaid consultancy at Guy’s Hospital, London.
