So yesterday I saw Escape Plan, the prison escape movie with Stallone and Schwarzenegger. It was your average action movie. To its benefits, the movie played it straight and did not focus on the fact it had Stallone and Schwarzennger like the Expendables do. This could have starred any other action actor and worked just fine. It's not bad, it's just nothing special or anything that I haven't seen before - heck, we've even seen a Stalone in prison film before - remember Lock Up with Donald Sutherland?
There is however one thing I really, really liked in this movie. This guy:
Once again, Faran Tahir proves to be one of the most compelling screen presence. In this movie he plays Javed, a muslim prisoner and the leader of the Muslim community in the prison (who are not depicted as worse than any other prisoner, which is nice). Javed is sympathetic, badass, and you can't resist to cheer him on when he kills bad guy with "Allahu Akbar" as his battecry while awesome battle music plays on.
So, to summarize, wait for this movie to come on DVD/Netflix, then fast forward through everything without Faran Tahir.
Also, can we get him on Agents of Shield? As a recurring bad guy? If Coulson can be brought back, Raza can too!
