Okay, I don't have cable, so maybe it isn't all reruns, but mostly American TV just takes a break for two or three weeks around the holidays. I guess they think we all have better things to do than watch TV.
Unless it's football or something. When it's Thanksgiving or New Year's, we are expected to spend the day watching football, or a parade, or celebrities we don't really care about singing. Or celebrities we don't really care about singing during parades and football games.
On the other hand, Britain has a Dr. Who Christmas special, a Downton Abbey Christmas special, and now a Call The Midwife Christmas special. And I think now they are watching Sherlock Holmes.
Can't we have a Person of Interest Christmas special and an Elementary Christmas special. And then we could bring back some sort of Star Trek and have a Christmas special.
Is there anything interesting going on in Canada, like a Continuum Christmas or New Year's special?
