With the recent casting news about the Rocky Horror Show putting the show in everybody’s thoughts, I thought I’d share a couple things I recently discovered about the Rocky Horror Show.

The first thing I learned was that Anthony Stewart Head, our beloved librarian from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, used to play Dr. Frank n Furter in the revival West End production of the show. And he is damned good at the role. Here’s his revisiting the role for a tribute show:

And an interesting side-note, though one I already knew, is that the Brad during his run was the much beloved Craig Ferguson. As was discussed here in an interview I somehow managed to miss until a week ago.

And the other thing I learned about the RHS is that only a few months ago BBC America aired a one-night only for charity showing of the stage version of the Rocky Horror Show that is touring the in the UK. AND IT’S GLORIOUS!. They used a series of special guest narrators: Adrian Edmonson, Stephen Fry, Anthony Head, Emma Bunton, Mel Giedroyc, and the RHS legend that is Richard O’Brien. The cast is amazing. The production values are excellent. Honestly, we don’t even need the new one being produced by Fox. Just get this out for purchase, and we’re golden.
