The 10 month wait for new content in World of Warcraft is coming to an end, at long last - the game's fifth expansion, Warlords of Draenor, now has a release date. And an orc-tastic new cinematic!
Unveiled in a ridiculously elaborate - and really drawn out - livestream and public event in Los Angeles, the new cinematic sees the Orc clans of old Draenor, in a twist to our Azeroth's own past, rejecting the blood of the Demon Lord Mannoroth - Garrosh Hellscream, son of Grom, has ventured into this alternate world and changed the course of history, forging the Orcs into a Horde powered by Iron and Steel rather than Fel Magic. That can't end well for us in modern-day Azeroth, can it?
The Event also débuted the first in a series of animated shorts called Lords of War - akin to the gorgeous Burdens of Shaohao miniseries released online last year, the animation will delve into the back stories of the titular Warlords of the Orc clans in the run up to the expansion's release, so we'll be more familiar with who we're going to be duffing up when we head beyond the Dark Portal once more. This first episode of five focuses on Kargath Bladefist, a character so
designed in the mid-nineties extreeeeme he has a literal blade for a fist. Where do you think he got that name!?
And now, all we need to do is wait a little longer before we meet him and his loud, angry friends. Warlords of Draenor is out November 13th.
