While Fridays are always a welcome sign that the weekend is nigh, any day is improved by adding more Servals. Zeke, a two-month-old Serval kitten, has made his new home at the Cincinnati Zoo after being born at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Texas.
Zeke is not yet on exhibit because he needs to be kept in quarantine for his own safety and that of his fellow residents. But that doesn't mean that he's not getting plenty of play time with the staff.
It's not all fun and games, though, because the staff are helping Zeke prepare for an important role in Cincinnati Zoo's Animal Ambassador Program. This program is an educational outreach program that allows patrons to see the animal ambassadors in a more personal way, and learn more about their role in their wild ecosystem and the survival challenges they face.
I've written about Servals in my Caturday series.
And there's video, too!
