We Are All Heather in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Heather “I’m a student” Davis is one of the best characters in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She’s the Daria, the April Ludgate, but also, she’s a student and has been for a long time. But not anymore! In this week’s episode, Heather learns that she actually has enough credits to graduate! Yay?

The song that she reluctantly sings, “The Moment is Me,” is every treacly inspirational song about “Where do we go from here?” that you’ve ever heard, but sung with Vella Lovell’s perfect “ugh” voice. “Do I have to sing an inspirational musical theater song now?” she asks and, of course, the answer is yes, because that’s what you do in a musical when you graduate.

The other song of the episode was “I Go to the Zoo,” a hip-hop ballad by Nathaniel Plimpton III (Scott Michael Foster), all about how when he’s depressed, he goes to the zoo. And the other zoo. And sometimes the aquarium, which is like a zoo for fish.
