Hello and welcome to this week''s WednesdayBookClub, io9ers!! My name is Geesejuggler and today's picture is continuing on with the theme of Re-purposed Building for Bookstores, today's picture is of the Ler Devagar (Portuguese for "Read Slowly". How awesome is that?) in Lisbon. Built in 1846, it was orginally an LX factory, manufactoring thread and fabrics but now is home to art galleries, artists' spaces and a bookstore.
Isn't it pretty!?
This past week was a pretty great book reading week for me. I finished The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan last Wednesday (My cousin bet me that I couldn't finish all 574 pages of it by the next day. 26 hours and change and I still goofed off that night. Yatta!).
On the Reread" front, I finished Daddy Long Legs and it's still great. Selianth linked the soundtrack for the musical for me but I haven't listened to all of it yet. The stupid world won't like me be still long enough to truly devour it the way I want to. I also reread Ally Carter's Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy, book 2 in her Gallagher Girls YA series and I'll probably get started on that today.
Book of the week, though, has to go to When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. This book is kinda hard to explain so I'm linking its GoodReads pages here but when you finish it, it feels like a classic even though it's only 2 years old. It reminds me of all the Newbury Honor books that I read when I was younger. I know I'm not doing a good job describing it but you guys have to read it. It's a quick read but it's so good! I got the suggestion for it from Selianth.
What about you all? What have you read this week?
