Okay... WH 13 was a fun little romp this week.

Until, that is, I heard Valda say something terrible:

"kang coo shi si"

What the hell was that? That was NOT Chinese.

They got the characters right the doors. They even had the grammar correct (numbers come at the beginning, not the end). But then Valda completely butchers it. It's not even about getting the tones wrong (I've been in China almost 3 years and I still get the tones wrong) it's about basic pronunciation and grammar.

First of all, he didn't say "Warehouse (number) fourteen". He said something closer to "fourteen warehouses" (actually... the grammar is completely fracked).

Secondly, the pronunciation "kang" is so amazingly wrong. I had to rewind he comment 3 times to make sure I was actually hearing what I thought was hearing.

The correct way to say "Warehouse Fourteen" would be more like "shure sih how tsahng koo". (十四号仓库) "Warehouse" is closer to "thank you" than to "Cancun".

I know... minor nitpick. But it's a mistake that is so *amazingly* easy to avoid.
