The past year was the first time in a while that both the Star Trek and Star Wars franchises had a new major product released (Star Trek: Discovery and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story respectively). Do you think these products were “good” for their respective franchises, however you want to define that word? In a very crowded SF/F film and television world, did these products feel as if they were “essential” viewing?
