Thanks to a kindly head's up from another Kinjateer, I found out that Guillermo del Toro is coming to San Francisco next month to receive a directing award from the SF Film Society. Before he receives the award though, he is going to be giving a talk about his career and hosting a screening of The Devil's Backbone, one of his earlier movies. Money is a bit tight for me right now, but I knew if I didn't go see him, I would regret it immensely. I've been freaking out about it all week because GDT is one of my pop culture heroes, and in just a month or so I'm going to be in the same room as him. I'm just so giddy, it's hard to describe using coherent words. I'll be sure to give a full review of the evening afterwards ... assuming I haven't died and gone to heaven. ;)
P.S. If I wear a Pacific Rim T-shirt do y'all think he might notice me?
