Who were the Greeks?

I just wanted to share my enthusiasm for a documentary that does not insult my intelligence by dumbing down history. Only two hour-long parts but so fascinating. The top picture is of the Parthenon as it may have looked when freshly painted. Here is a map of where some of the colours came from:


I knew bleeding was more useful than many modern people realise, especially for people who ate too much meat. I had assumed, as many do, that cupping was just silly superstition. I had never seen any suggestion from a scientific source that it would be a potent immune stimulant. Michael Scott so clearly loves his subject and communicates it so clearly. Happily speaking Greek before translating it. As good a presenter as Bettany Hughes.
