This week's Person of Interest tried something radical with an episode titled "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show." I'm not sure what the writers were thinking but it just didn't work for me.
It wasn't initially clear who the number of the week was among the several models and musical artists. The Machine Gang didn't appear in the episode at all, which made things even more confusing.
I finally realized the twist. There was no number of the week. This was an episode about what the Machine does when it's not busy generating numbers for the government or Finch.
While the idea of a Machine-centric episode is good, the execution just didn't work. It was a bold move by the writers but making the Machine a voyeur of scantily clad women seems like an odd choice. The writers really need to think it through if they decide to do another episode like this.
